From festivals to promenades… it’s going to be a  great weekend! Here’s your guide to what’s happening in and around Garden City.  


Friday- The GC Friday Night Promenade kicks off summer tonight! 6pm-10pm. Seventh St., Garden City

Saturday and Sunday- The Annual Eternal Con: Long Island Comic Con takes place at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Come and celebrate all things pop culture! Sat admissions: Adult $25, Children 2-12 $12. Sun admission: Adult $20, Child $6. Charles Lindbergh Blvd., Garden City. Sat 10am-7pm.

Saturday and Sunday- Enjoy the classic tale of Cinderella at the Long Island Children’s Museum. Cost: $12 nonmember, $10 member. Showtime: 11:30am, 2pm. 11 Davis Ave, Garden City.

Saturday- Hit the Garden City Pool for opening day! Take advantage of one of this town’s greatest offering’s and join the pool (GC residents only). Click here to register.

Saturday- Take part in the Caribbean Festival in Eisenhower Park. Lakeside Theatre. 2pm-9pm. Cost: free.

Saturday- Free craft for kids at Lakeshore Learning Store. 11am-3pm. Cost: free. 2079 Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park. 

Saturday- Free soccer clinic continues at Eisenhower Park. Ages 3-6. Clinic is provided by Rock Star Sports. Field 2, 10am. Click here for more information. This weekend will be the sixth week of the program.

Saturday- Eisenhower Park’s Family Fun Festival. Enjoy raffles, 26 different rides, games and international food court! Fri 6pm-11pm, Sat 1pm-11pm, Sun 1pm-6pm. Field 2. 

Saturday- Enjoy the music of From Classical to Contemporary at Adelphi University. Players from Adelphi’s Symphony Orchestra join professional conductors to present selected works from Mozart, Beethoven, Copland and Stravinsky. Westermann Stage, Concert Hall. Cost: $20. Weekend Events Guide: June 5th Edition

Jockeys and horse owners checked into the GC Hotel this week-making it evident that the big weekend was approaching. Now here we are and it’s an especially big weekend for American Pharaoh! Will he take the crown?? There are lots of race {and also non-race} related events to going on in and around Garden City this weekend. Enjoy!


Friday- The 18th Annual Belmont Festival on 7th St in Garden City takes place from 6pm-10pm. Come for live music, facepainting, bouncy houses, food, drinks, live entertainment and more. This is always a great night to catch up with your friends and neighbors!


Friday and Saturday- Head to BK Sweeney’s because betting is open for the Belmont Stakes. No OTB lines for you! Enjoy their Belmont drink special on Saturday while you’re there. 636 Franklin Ave, Garden City. 


Friday, Saturday and Sunday- The Eisenhower Park Family Festival will have music, games, rides, vendors and an International Food Court. Dates/Times: Fri 6pm-11pm, Sat 1pm-11pm, Sun 1pm-9pm. East Meadow.


Friday, Saturday and Sunday- Wear your “Belmont Best” to the Polo Lounge in the GC Hotel. Enjoy special Belmont food and drink menus. 


Saturday- Capo on Covert Ave is in the Belmont spirit with $15 bottles of wine {wow!}, $5 sangria and 15% off your bill of $30 or more! 49 Covert Ave, Floral Park. 


Saturday- Watch the race at the Polo Lounge in the GC Hotel and enjoy a cocktail or two- appropriately named after the race horses!

Saturday- As on every Saturday, Lakeshore Learning Store holds a different free craft for kids each weekend. 11am-3pm. 2079 Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park.

Weekend Events Guide: May 29th Edition

If you’re not heading to Hell’s Kitchen for Fleet Week this weekend, here’s your Inside Garden City guide to what’s happening in and around town!


Friday- Catch the Rangers semi finals game at 8pm at BK Sweeney’s Uptown Grille. They’ll be offering beer specials to help you get your game on! 636 Franklin Ave, Garden City. 
— A few other places where you can catch the game tonight: Revel 835 Franklin Ave, Garden City and Doc O’Grady’s at 273 Nassau Blvd South. 

Friday- Hear LI’s best cover band, The Touch, perform live in the Biergarten at Plattduetsche Park in Floral Park. Enjoy some authentic German fare and beer while you’re at it! No cover charge. 1132 Hempstead Tpke., Franklin Square. 6:30-10:30pm.

Friday through Sunday- The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Paul will host its Annual Festival. Don’t miss the rides, games and delicious food! Start times: Friday- 6pm, Sat and Sun- 2pm. 110 Cathedral Ave, Hempstead.  

Friday through Sunday- The Holy Spirit Church Family Festival is the spot for lots of fun and entertainment with rides, food, music and more. Free parking. Hours: Fri 6pm-11pm, Sat 2pm-11pm, Sun 1pm-7pm. Holy Spirit Church, 16 S. 6th St., New Hyde Park. 

Friday through Sunday- If you love all things strawberry (think strawberry shortcake, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate covered strawberries…), the Nassau County Strawberry Festival is the place for you! Also go for the rides, games, live music and entertainment. It will take place at Jerusalem Ave and Newbridge Road in Bellmore. Cost: Free. Hours: Fri 6pm-10pm, Sat 12pm-11pm and Sun 12pm-6pm.

Friday through Sunday- St. Thomas the Apostle School will hold its annual Family Festival at 24 Westminster Road in West Hempstead. Come for live music, magic shows, rides, food and more. Cost: Free. Hours: Fri 6pm-11pm, Sat 2pm-11pm, Sun 2pm-8pm.

Saturday- If your children love the storybook Goodnight Moon, don’t miss the storybook come to life at the Long Island Children’s Museum. Remaining showtimes: Saturday 11:30am and 2pm. Ages 3 and up. Cost: $9 with museum admission, $7 for members, $12 for theatre only. 11 Davis Ave, Garden City.

Weekend Events Guide: May 22nd Edition

There’s so much happening in and around Garden City this weekend that you’re sure to find a great way to kick off Memorial Day!


Try and catch the fabulous two-day Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach on Saturday AND Sunday from 12pm-5pm. Show admission is free. There is a $10 parking charge. 

Saturday- Free 6 week soccer program continues at Eisenhower Park for ages 3-10. Clinic is provided by Rock Star Sports. Field 2, 10am. Click here for more information. This weekend will be the third week of this program. 

Saturday- See the Navy and Marine Helicopter Landing at Eisenhower Park’s Kite Field. Admission: Free. 10am-1pm.

Weekend Events Guide: May 15th Edition:

There’s a wide variety of events going on this weekend in and around Garden City- definitely something that everyone can enjoy. Who wouldn’t want to get out there and enjoy a few of them? Whatever you choose to do, enjoy the weekend!


Friday- Grammy winner Rosanne Cash will perform at Adelphi University. The daughter of Johnny Cash will perform to a sold out show but a few tickets remain. Click here to order but you better be fast because they won’t be available for long! 7:30pm. Western Stage in Concert Hall. 

Saturday- The School of Long Island Dance Project will hold its annual demonstration class at the Unitarian Church in Garden City. Saturday- Support the Book Sale at the GC Public Library and find some book bargains! 9:30am-4pm

Saturday- Hance 5K and Family Fun Day! Join in the trio of races: Emma’s Mile begins at 9am. 9:30 marks the start of the 5K run/walk. 10:30am is the Pee Wee Run. 10:45am: Race Awards. 11am: Family Fun Day begins! Saturday- The Andy Foundation Annual Spring Yard Sale is taking place from 9am-2pm at St. Paul’s Fieldhouse. Be sure to stop by and show your support. You may find a treasure or two and it’s all for a very good cause! Stewart Ave, Garden City. 

Saturday- Shop the Block at Garden City Community Church. Come to fill your shopping needs and enjoy a day of fashion, food and fun! Vendors will be selling a wide array of items. There will also be a car wash and plant sale. 10am-3pm. Whitehall Blvd and Stewart Ave, Garden City.

Saturday- Hofstra University’s Annual Dutch Festival takes pace from 11am-5pm. Saturday- Hit the Long Island Children’s Museum from 2pm-4pm if you want to make a dazzling jewelry box for Mother’s Day. 11 Davis Ave, Garden City.

Weekend Events Guide: April 24th Edition

There’s a fun-filled weekend ahead of us in Garden City!


Saturday- GC For a Cure. 5K timed run/walk starts at 9am. One mile untimed fun run/walk 9:15am. Start and finish at GC High School. Proceeds to benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Society. Click here for event details. Rain or shine. La Bottega will be selling pasta dinners for $4 at registration on Friday night with proceeds donated to GC For a Cure. 


Saturday- The annual Benefit Yard Sale at the Garden City Bird Sanctuary/Tanners Pond Environmental Center takes place from 9am-3pm. It will feature antiques, collectibles, furniture, housewares and more. Proceeds go to the Garden City Bird Sanctuary for programs. Located opposite 181 Tanners Pond Road in Garden City and is easily accessible from Stewart Ave and Jericho Tpke. 


Saturday- Carnival for a Cure takes place at the GC Casino.This fundraiser for My Best Friend Jr benefits the Falcon Anemia Research Fund. The event takes place from 1pm-4pm and will feature games, prizes, food and a turtle derby! Cost: $10. 51 Cathedral Ave.

Weekend Events Guide: April 17th Edition

After a rainy Friday, it’s going to be a beautiful Saturday and Sunday. So choose one of the events that’s taking place in and around Garden City this weekend and enjoy the outdoors!



Friday and Saturday- Hicks Nurseries is having a very special “Pop Up” Art Show presented by the Greater Westbury Council for the Arts. Enjoy beautiful floral displays, music, food, a “make-and-take” and wonderful art created by local artists. Cost: Free. Friday: 2pm-8pm, Saturday: 10am-6pm. 100 Jericho Tpke, Westbury.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday- Garden City Community Church is holding a church play and fundraiser with its production of “Dreamers”. Showtimes: Fri. 8pm, Sat. 7pm and Sun. 3pm. Cost: $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and children under 12 years. 245 Stewart Ave, Garden City.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday- Adelphi’s Annual Photography Show is coming to a close on April 20th. Stop by this exhibit, showcasing the work of Adelphi photography students, before it closes on April 20th. Dates and hours: Fri, Sat and Sun from 9am-9pm at Adelphi’s Performing Art Center Gallery.

Saturday- The GCAA Little League Parade starts at 9am and heads down 7th St. Come out and support our young athletes!
