Weekend Events Guide: Labor Day Weekend Edition

If you will be enjoying a staycation this Labor Day weekend, here’s what’s happening in and around Garden City. Enjoy!

Friday- The Garden City Friday Night Promenade continues from 6pm-10pm. Head to Seventh St. for lots of family fun- live music, al fresco dining, balloon animals, face painting, free give aways for the kids and more. Tonight’s theme is Sports so be sure to wear your favorite sports team shirt- either a local or professional team will do. Please remember to patronize our local businesses while there!

Friday- It’s Korean American Night at Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Theatre. Cost: free. 7pm.

Saturday- The GC Pool will host Member Appreciation Night from 7:30pm-10pm for kids as well as adults. Get set for live music provided by Old School, finger foods and… drum roll please…. alcohol! There will be a cash bar selling beer and wine. Each member is allowed to bring two guests free of charge. Regular fees apply to three or more guests.

Saturday- Free craft for kids at Lakeshore Learning Store. 11am-3pm. Cost: free. Ages 3 and up. 2079 Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park.

Saturday- Join the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church’s Annual Faith, Food and Fellowship Festival at 369 Green Ave, East Meadow. Enjoy Greek food, live Slavic music, bouncy houses, children’s games, flea market, Chinese auction, vendors and more! 10am-6pm. Cost: free.

Saturday and Sunday- I Do! I Do! opens at BroadHollow at Elmont MainStage. Showtimes: Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 2:30pm. Click here for tickets.

Monday- Celebrate Labor Day at the GC Pool with live music by DJ Bob from 6pm-9pm.

Also, rememeber that the US Open is ongoing in Queens until September 13th.
